Flashing instructions:


** note: Your phone must be application unlocked. If it is not, please run SDA Application Unlock.exe via Activesync (attached below).

1. Download and run SDA Application Unlock with the phone connected
2. Remove your SD Card
3. Download and unzip the file
4. Run Auto.bat
5. Follow the prompts in the DOS window
6. Hit "continue" on your phone, screen will turn white
7. Run RomUpdateUtility.exe (if it doesn't run via the script)
8. The flash will take about 8-10 minutes
9. Upon first boot, it will seem frozen for a few minutes, maybe even go black. This is NORMAL!
10. After first boot, I recommend doing a hard reset (Clear Storage)
11. Enjoy your new ROM!

In case something goes wrong:

1. Remove the battery and the SD Card--> Put ONLY the battery back in.
2. While holding the camera button, press the power button
3. The multicolor boot screen will pop up
4. Plug in the USB cable and flash back your shipped (HTC) ROM
5. Find out what went wrong and reflash this ROM properly

The sspl/hardspl are confirmed to work fine on the HTC Willow platform (HTC Snap 511).
It will not work on the HTC Maple platform (Dash3G). Running this sspl on a Dash3G will definitely brick it. Also the HTC CEDAR platform (Ozone) is not supported. For the Dash3G and Ozone I have already developed a sspl/hardspl.
The packages contains a SSPL, HardSPL, patched ROM updater and the original Snap S511 SPL. The package is based on SPL v0.34
Instructions:
1. remove SD and SIM cards (don’t forget otherwise the sspl is likely not to work!!)
2. connect your device to your pc with a USB cable and wait until it is synced
3. extract the file “Snap S511 HardSPL by JockyW.zip” and execute “auto.bat”
4. follow all instructions given on screen: first the sspl is copied to the device and executed. You must confirm running JumpSPL on the device: first time you must click Yes to allow it to run, you also must click the trackball to continue execution of JumpSPL. The device display will turn dark and after that the romupdate tool will install the hardspl on your device. (the identification string in the tri-color bootloader screen is “0.34.Hard”)
5. to test the sspl and the hardspl you can flash a splash screen
Once the HardSPL is installed on your device you can flash any cooked or original ROM.

New 3VOLUTION Titanium layout for 3VO.1.40.070109

This is an HTC Excalibur ROM, based on Windows Mobile 6.5. The current build number and date can be seen in the title of this thread. This will also work on the TMobile Dash (which is what's it's primarily setup for) and any other Excalibur variations.

I always build my ROMs with three main goals.

• Eye candy.
• Speed!
• Smoothness, consistency and good esthetics.

I preconfigure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go, how I'd want it. So, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications are already set, as well as a background and key shortcuts.


I usually make 2 versions of the ROM. If you don't see one in the download directory, it either means I haven't uploaded it OR I'm not making one for the current release yet.

Here are the different versions and what they mean.

• "IE6" includes the new IE6 browser
• "IE5" includes the older IE5 browser (less RAM being used).

Notes:


- Playing .mp4 videos in Windows Media Player still wont show video. However you can play them with anything else, like Coreplayer, tcpmp, etc
- RAM SEEMS to be on the low side at around 20-21 megs free. This is probably due to IE6 being a big fat pig, and not really meant to be installed on a device with 64 megs of RAM. This is why I will also provide a version with IE5, shortly.
